On the 30 th of 2017, CIS held a two-fold ceremony in honour of their Junior School students.
One leg was about the Junior School Leavers’ Assembly in honour of Year 6 students, while the
other leg was the Awards ceremony in which nominees from the different Year Groups in Junior
School received awards for their hard work throughout the academic year.
The outgoing Head Boy and Head Girl’s speeches could easily gain international awards for
‘Speeches of the Year’ as the young people left guests with utter amazement given their
fantastic speeches and the spectacular attitude they both exuded as they did their
The School Leavers’ ceremony did not go without an emotional moment as the students
travelled down memory lane to recall their journey through Junior School. They also gave
enormous credit to the School for impacting their lives. The students further emphasised that
the experience formed a solid base, upon which they will advance their academic pursuit.
The awards categories were drawn from all subjects. Other categories include: The Sunshine
Award; The CIS Spirit Award; Head of School Award and Sporting Colours Award.
It was heartwarming for the Junior School staff members to see the school leavers’ and
awardees’ faces hold smiles all through the ceremony. They were indeed pleased to see their
hard work pay off.
Parents were not left out of the celebration as their faces also radiated so much joy seeing their
children/wards round off primary education.
It was the end of term as well and members of the different extra-curricular clubs presented all
that they learnt within the term. Parents and other guests were entertained by the violin club,
different dance clubs including that of Senior School, etc. The presentations were proof that not
only does CIS thrive on academics, but that the students’ social skills are also sharpened by the
day to help the students develop into well-adjusted adults.
Congratulations to all students and staff for another successful term!
