Our Primary  and Secondary schools are co-educational - accommodating boys and girls from the ages of 2 years 6 months to 16 years. You are welcome to visit, preferably during school hours when you can see the children at work. We are happy to discuss your child's needs, answer questions and explain our policies and procedures.
The school operates from four buildings housing students from Foundation level t o Upper Secondary level in their respective buildings, with the administration offices of Primary and Secondary schools located within their respective buildings.
Welcome-Children's International School is one of the leading providers of first class Primary and Secondary education in Lagos, Nigeria today. We are indeed an International school with over twenty five countries represented in our student population. We offer a rich, diverse and stimulating extra-curricular programme that would appeal to most if not all of our students.

Admission Criteria

As an International School we admit children from the International community here in Lagos as well as children from the host country. Priority is given to:

  • Siblings
  • Children of  employees of the British Deputy High Commission
Students from Reception class age - Year 6 will be required to undergo an assessment in Numeracy and Literacy before admission into the school. Children with Special Needs  will also be assessed by the Special Needs Teacher. Special needs admissions are reviewed on an individual basis. An application for admission will only be complete when the following are received:
  • A duly completed registration form
  • A copy of the child's birth certificate or child's passport
  • Two recent coloured photographs
  • Payment of registration fees.
  • A copy of the most recent school report

(In the case of special needs admissions copies of all educational psychological report or relevant data will be required)
Once the application is complete, parents/guardians will be informed of their child's admission status. If there is no immediate opening the child will be placed on a wait list. A space will only be allocated once vacancy becomes available. Parents/ Guardians are encouraged  to contact the school at regular intervals to avoid the child being placed in the inactive file.

 

Midstream Admission Requirements

Students coming in from other schools will gain admission based upon official records from the previous school which confirms that they have been excelling or above average. An assessment will also be conducted for all applicants.

 

Emergency Contact Information

 

It is critical for the school to be able to contact parents at any time students are in school. The school must have the parent's current address, e-mail, home, mobile and business telephone numbers.

Emergency contact persons and their telephone numbers are needed in case a parent cannot be reached. This information is required at the time of registration and whenever a change occurs in the parents' address, telephone number or emergency contact information. Such information is treated as confidential and is only released to relevant school staff.Telephone contact details, however, may be used on our telephone tree which is used to alert families of information or potential emergency situations during and out of school hours.

Medical Information

Upon initial enrolment in Children's International School, Parents must complete the medial forms or provide us with the medical history of the child
