It is always a great pleasure bringing you updates on events that go on at CIS. Why? Because the events are always brilliant summaries of the co-curricular activities as well as thoughtful initiatives of the students.
We are still basking in the euphoria of the School’s recently concluded annual Art Exhibition.
The exhibition opened on the 5th of June with the expected professional detail that there can only be at an Art Exhibition. The entire set up was simply awesome, so much so that the Art patrons and honoured guests, to whom we owe our special thanks for honouring our invitation, strongly commended the effort put into organizing the exhibition. Many visitors likened the exhibition to those organised by celebrated Artists and Gallery owners, as they laid great emphasis on the students’ works which are indeed striking. They marvelled at the imaginative strength and creativity of the students and following from this outpour of accolades, the sense of fulfilment felt by the students till date is unquantifiable.
We sincerely appreciate the leading lights of the Art World in Africa who graced the event. The roll call at the CIS Art Exhibition was a truly respected one with men and women from Nigeria’s Art space including Miss. Polly Alakija – Guest of Honour, Chief Mrs. Nike Okundaye (the woman behind the Nike Art empire and now esteemed Patron to the CIS Art Department) and Mr. Oliver Enwonwu (President of the Society of Nigerian Artists and CEO of both Enwonwu Foundation and Omenka Gallery).
The event was a huge success and we are thankful to the corporate bodies and individuals that contributed to it. They include Geodetic Offshore Services Limited; Mr. & Mrs. Emanuel Ekpeyong; Mr. & Mrs. Patrick Isicheli; Mrs. Fatima Wafailu; Mrs. Enobong Fayose; D’Artist Chike Onuorah; Ms. Peju Alatise; Rele Gallery; Revolving Art Incubator and Arthouse Contemporary Limited.
Moments of the exhibition were fully captured in photographs and videos. Please relax and go through the gallery below to view the event.
