CIS Literacy Week 2018.

The Literacy Week on the CIS calendar is an exciting and much anticipated programme which seeks to inspire, motivate and encourage the heart and minds of every member of CIS family towards literacy.

This year was phenomenal, as we were honoured to have the Nobel Laureate – Professor Wole Soyinka – visit CIS for the Literacy Week, along with Alan Durant, a notable writer from the UK and as well as Jenim Dibie, a poet. All three writers took part in various activities such as workshops, story times, talk shows, and a press conference to reflect our theme for the year ‘Myths around the World’.For more information please visit Channels TV book club via

As a result of these successful events, March 7th – March 9th 2018 will forever leave an indelible positive mark in the minds of our students.

The second half of the Literacy Week will even be better, as we will be having many more events such as debates and spelling bee competitions across the Key Stages.

We want to use this opportunity to thank all our Parents and Sponsors for making this epoch event a huge success. Thank you for your generosity.

Kind regards,

Okechukwu Alozie.
