Welcome back and, on behalf of all the staff at CIS, happy New Year. I hope that drop-off this morning was stress free for you and that your morning routine with your children getting to school has been quickly re-established.
As we begin this Lent Term, Class and Form Teachers will be reminding all students about the expectations they and the school has of them, whether it is in the classroom, outside of formal learning areas, movement between lessons, at break times and even the way they conduct themselves away from school – being able to show the community how well CIS students present themselves in public. As always, please remember that if you have any concerns the first member of staff to contact should be in most cases the Class or Form Teacher, then Middle Management & Heads of Subject Department before finally the Senior Leaders of the School. This process is usually the most efficient and effective way of addressing issues. To contact a member of staff, please email them by using surname followed by initial letter of first name @ cislagos.org
Regarding curriculum content this Term, Junior (Primary) School curriculum overviews will be updated on the school website by the end of this week. Senior School programmes of study can be accessed through the student intranet area – intranet.cislagos.org/student-area – then using the individual students’ email address and password. Senior School students must also make sure that they check their school email daily for any messages or school related issues sent from their teachers. If you have any IT related problems, please contact Mr. Stephen Akinpelu, Head of IT Infrastructure at firstname.lastname@example.org
I hope you all received the What’s Going On @ CIS email from me last Friday. Please also keep checking student diaries and the school website calendar for dates and events.
We are very pleased to announce that this coming weekend, many Year 6 students from both within and outside of CIS will be experiencing a Boarding Taster Weekend, with a view to them being Boarding Students in Year 7 from next academic year. Parents of Year 6 students currently attending CIS should be aware that many offer letters were sent out last Term for places in Year 7 next September and therefore there are only a small number of admission places left for next session in Year 7. Parents wishing their child to continue with CIS into Senior School should contact Ms Ogho, School Registrar, immediately at email@example.com
Finally, I wish to draw your attention to two emails sent recently. The first one, from myself, referred to the late pick up procedure policy at the end of the school day. This was sent on the 16th December 2016, subject line Important notice from the Head of School. The second email, sent from Mr. Michael Akinyemi, my PA, and had the subject line School fees and was sent on the 23rd December 2016.
I hope you and your children continue to enjoy CIS each day and I know that every member of staff is genuinely happy and pleased to be back in school, guiding and supporting their learning and development.
Kind regards and best wishes as always,
Head of School,
